Day 14 in Canada 🇨🇦

We have now ticked off almost all of our Canadian Bucket List Items (although we warmly welcome further suggestions). In our two weeks here we’ve feasted on delights such as homemade pancakes with maple syrup, maple marinated Canadian salmon, butter tarts and a Tim Hortons or two (despite recently founding out that it is in fact no longer Canadian owned). In addition to the food, we’ve been experiencing all that Southern Ontario has to offer thanks to our wonderful hosts.

Since our last blog post, our itinerary has seen us delve deeper into the depths of the milkbag operations, visiting yet more groups to share our story and learn about those of others. We have been welcomed with a humbling amount of support and were even given gifts at the event today. It’s been incredible to see so many people involved in and supporting our project here in Canada.

Despite the packed itinerary we are still managing to find a few hours each day to edit our first video. It is now almost at the stage of completion and just requires some final tweaking before being published. We are certainly learning a lot and beginning to understand the enormity of the challenge we have given ourselves. We are however excited to share our first efforts with you and see how our work improves as the trip unfolds.

We are also being reminded amongst all of the activities that taking a break and having some down time is so important. Socialising is at the core of our project and it is of course tiring when you’re on the go all of the time. This last weekend was however the perfect wee bit of rest and relaxation as we spent it with friends in Guelph. Thank you to our wonderful hosts who once again looked after us and restored us ready for the week ahead.

Tomorrow will see us visit the warehouse where the milkbag mats are stored and distributed internationally so we are very excited about the beginning of our third and final week here. Hopefully in the coming days we will have a video to share so keep an eye on that section of the website for updates!
